Qualfications and Experience
I  am a qualified psychotherapeutic counsellor and a member of the UPCA and adhere to their ethical guidelines for good practice in counselling and psychotherapy. I gained a BSc hons degree at Roehampton University in 2012 and went on to complete an advanced diploma in clinical supervision of both groups and individuals at The Grove in 2014. More recently, I undertook a certificate in Counselling for Depression (CfD) at Metanoia in 2015. I am also completed the 'Assist' course on working with those who are experiencing suicdal ideation.

I offer one to one psychotherapeutic counselling for individuals 18 and over. My approach to my practice is integrative, which means that I have studied and applied many different approaches, such as person centred, psychodynamic, psychoanalytical, existential and more recently counselling for depression (CfD) which is also an integrative approach of emotional focussed therapy, Gestalt and person centred.

I have worked extensively in the mental health field as a therapist for many years including the charity Mind and the NHS and have experience of working within managerial roles for the past 17 years. Currently; I am the Clinical Team Leader for supervisors and counsellors in a London prison.

My Practice
I believe that each person that comes to  see me is a unique and valuable person, with their own story to tell and so I base my practice on each individual relationship being at the heart of the work.  My aim is through dialogue and exploration, to assist and accompany an individual to become more aware of themselves and to gain a sense of autonomy. I feel it is important to form a collaborative partnership with each person, so that together, we can work through any painful issues which may be a stumbling block for positive change or development.

In my experience, I have found that counselling and psychotherapy. can help individuals to make sense of their difficulties or discontent. To come to a place of  acceptance and live with past events. To overcome loss or grief. To feel more able to trust their own autonomy and find solutions to ease problems, find direction and make better decisions. To become more confident and form healthier relationships with others. To feel more energised, more focussed and be able to carry on with life in a more positive an fulfilling way.

I also offer clinical supervision to both groups and individuals and my approach to this role is also integrative, with a view to allowing each therapist to grow and develop within their practice.
I am a clinical member of UPCA and working towards UPCA accreditation and UKCP registration and adhere to their guidance on good and ethical practice for counselling and psychotherapy.
